The Elphinstone Wizard stands on shíshálh Nation territory, currently managed by BC Timber Sales. This p'élán-ay / Douglas fir is 195cm in diameter and broken at 42m in height. It was LiDAR scanned on June 6, 2022 by Emergent Layer DAO. A coring was taken on September 29, 2022 by Snowline Ecological Research for Elphinstone Logging Focus (ELF). The sample indicates a date of establishment of 1540 CE. ELF has been working for many years to protect and recruit old growth to be included in the Mt.
